The poem looks at the grievances of the people who have tried to speak up for their rights. Even when the system breaks them down and paints them as criminals, the poem tries to build a ground for people who have lost faith. It resonates deeply with the fears of everyone who has seen how the 'banana state' has become a source of injustice, a source of pain, and a source of frustration. More so with the greedy barbarian who holds power as it is today.

We were robbed of all we had yesterday
and when we complained it was pushed away.
So we tried to protest but all was a deaf delay
by the people who sit as lords in the banana state
without considering how much we pay so we hate.
When my brother's son lost half of his land
it was not for the hate but for the few coins he had.
And when my sister complained she was betrayed,
silenced,
To us now, never seen her,
believing she's dead.
So now the greedy barbarian has to stay.
Since not even our cries or struggles can pay,
We live in a den where we don't comment
it's the same because all we see is a small exchange for fame.
What can we do to end this shame?
